Motion City Soundtrack
30th March 2010
Oran Mor, Glasgow
Fresh off the release of new album My Dinosaur Life, the quirk-tastic Motion City Soundtrack rounded off their UK tour with a jam-packed, fun-filled show at Glasgow's Oran Mor. Tonight's show took place in the downstairs club room of a church turned bar & restaurant, complete with pop art on the walls and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and the unusual venue seemed to mirror MCS's unique brand of feisty music.

Launching straight into Attractive Today, Motion City Soundtrack whipped the crowd into a manic frenzy, with Justin Pierre often stepping back from his microphone to conduct the chorus of Scottish voices before him. Their lengthy set was packed full of favourites both young and old, with The Future Freaks Me Out and @!#?@! (pronounced 'bleurgh', for those who were wondering) being particular highlights. With anthemic Lets Get Fucked Up And Die leading into the encore, there was only one way for the night to end. Stage banter was brief as both band and crew had a plane to catch, but not before a rowdy rendition of Everything Is Alright to finish everything off.

Bouncy guitar riffs, eccentric dancing and gravity-defying hair were the backdrop for the self deprecating, angst-ridden lyrics that make up the MCS back catalogue. An utterly fantastic evening that firmly confirmed Motion City Soundtrack to be one of the most exciting band's around right now.
